David Nalbandian and Gilles Simon out of Roland Garros

David Nalbandian and Gilles Simon announced that they will not play the French Open, the second Grand Slam of the season, because of injuries. Del Potro, Davydenko and Blake are other tennis players that will not be playing in Paris.

Nalbandian has not recovered from the tear in his hamstring. He is recovering in Argentina, and maintains a permanent dialogue with Spanish doctor Angel Ruiz Cotorro, who advised him to return to the activity whenhe is fully recovered.

Gilles Simon pulled out from Roland Garros because of his lack of fitness after returning from an injury. He only started training last week after recovering from a knee injury.

“He feels inadequately prepared to play in an event as demanding as Roland Garros.” The French tennis federation said.

Simon will be replaced by Igor Kunitsyn in the main draw.
