Andreev Withdraws From Rome Masters

Igor Andreev has withdrawn from the Rome Masters with a shoulder injury.

The Russian was to face Enrico Burzi in Sunday's qualifying round of the clay-court event, but did not appear on court.

It was the same problem, a strained right shoulder, that forced Andreev to retire from last week's Madrid Open, where he was a set down to Gael Monfils in the second round.

The Rome Masters is a key tune-up event for the French Open, which starts May 22.

Novak Djokovic and Victorkia Azarenka head the seedings.
