Federer vs Djokovic in Rome 2012 semifinals

Novak Djokovic scored a 7-5, 6-1 win over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarter-finals of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome.

In the opening set, The Serbian twice had the advantage but the Frenchman was able to get even with the world number one until the 12th game when the Serb broke again to seal the set.

In the second set it was all about Nole, who broke twice and was able to finish the match 83 minutes.

"In the second set I played one of the best sets on clay this year and this is encouraging for the challenges to come tomorrow and with Roland Garros," reflected Djokovic. "I am playing and feeling better every match I play. I really don't compare with 2011. I say that this is a new year and I had great results so far and I am playing good in Rome so far. I am increasing the level as the tournament goes on and this is important."

In the semis, Djokovic will face Roger Federer, who crushed Andreas Seppi 61 62.

Federer converted four of his eight break point opportunities, and hit 81 per cent of his first serves in play to remain undefeated against the Italian, advancing in just 54 minutes.
