Kohlschreiber reaches Kitzbuehel final

Kohlschreiber reaches Kitzbuehel final

Philipp Kohlschreiber beat Filippo Volandri 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 to reach the final of the Bet-at-Home Cup.

Kohlschreiber will next play Robin Haase Haase, who defeated the fifth-seeded Martin Klizan of Slovakia 6-3, 6-3.

The German was broken at 5-3 in the opening set, the only time he dropped serve in the match, and ended it up losing it in the tie breaker.

He recovered to break Volandri twice in both the following sets to secure the win.

"I spent a lot of time on court during the last two days. Now I’m glad to be in the final," said Kohlschreiber. "I knew that at some point this year I could reach the Top 20. It’s great that it will happen now. Tomorrow I play for the trophy. I know that both Haase and Klizan are in a great form and like playing in the altitude."

For Kohlschreiber it is great to reach the final as he will get the chance to get into the top 20 in the rankings but at the same time he will not have time to enjoy it match as he will rush on Saturday to London to compete in the Olympic tennis event.

"Tomorrow I will try to catch the latest flight to England so I can at least sleep there."
