Novak Djokovic accepted a wildcard and will play in Eastbourne next week in preparation for Wimbledon.

It will be the first time Djokovic has played a grass-court event between the French Open and Wimbledon since 2010.

“This will be my first trip to Eastbourne, I have heard great things about the tournament,” said Djokovic, who will be the top seed there. “I am looking forward to fine-tuning my grass court game there ahead of Wimbledon.”

He is coming off a surprise straight-set loss to Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals at Roland Garros and dropped outside the top two in the world for the first time since March 2011.

Gael Monfils, Feliciano Lopez and John Isner are also playing at Eastbourne in southern England.
