Tsitsipas vs Rublev in Hamburg Open final

Tsitsipas vs Rublev in Hamburg Open final Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Christian Garin 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 in the Hamburg Open semifinals to set up a final against Andrey Rublev. That denied Garin his third clay final of the year and ended the Chilean's 5-0 unbeaten record in tour semis. Tsitsipas' run to the Hamburg final has seen him recover from his third-round exit at the U.S. Open and a first-round elimination in Rome last week in his first clay tournament of the year. !--more--> The man standing between Tsitsipas and his second title of 2020 is Andrey Rublev after the Russian beat Casper Ruud 6-4, 6-2 in the first semifinal. Rublev overcame Ruud, who has the most clay-court wins on the ATP Tour this year with 15. Rublev advanced to his third career clay final and seventh overall. Now 24-6 in tour matches this season, he equaled his achievement of reaching the final in Hamburg last year when he lost in three sets to Nikoloz Basilashvili.

Christian Garin became the first Chilean to win an ATP Tour title in 10 years when he beat Casper Ruud 7-6(4) 4-6 6-3 at the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship in Houston.

The turning point came at 2-2 in the final set, when Ruud was unable to capitalize on three break point chances. Garin broke in the next game by chasing down a drop shot and flicking a forehand winner.

Serving for the title at 5-3, the Chilean then hammered an ace to set up championship point. A heavy forehand on the next point decided the match.

Guido Pella claimed his first ATP title at the Brazil Open after defeating Christian Garin 7-5, 6-3 in an all-South American final.

The last time an Argentine player lifted the trophy was Federico Delbonis five years ago.

"I couldn't believe it. That forehand usually, on this surface, doesn't go in because of the altitude. I hit it not so clean," Pella said. "But today was my day, it was in and I couldn't believe it. After five finals, it was time that I won the match. I didn't know what to say, what to think. It was a very emotional moment for me. I'm not used to crying a lot and today was unbelievable."
