Fernando Gonzalez gets New Haven Wild Card
Fernando Gonzalez has received a wild card to play Pilot Pen Tennis in New Haven next week.
Gonzalez has suffered from patellar tendonitis the last few months and is returning for his first tournament since the French Open.
"Our wildcards this year have been sensational thus far," said tournament directore Anne Worcester. "Adding Gonzalez, who has top 10 talent, to James Blake, Ana Ivanovic, Samantha Stosur and Elena Dementieva is exactly what we were looking for to strengthen our fields. Our fans are once again going to see some of the biggest stars in the game, in an intimate atmosphere, all for an affordable price."
The Pilot Pen still has two men’s main draw wild cards, one women’s main draw wild card and three qualifying draw wild cards to distribute. There are also four spots in both main draws for advancing qualifiers.
