Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Novak Djokovic, Tommy Haas, Richard Gasquet, Agnieska Radwanska, her sister Urszula, Angelique Kerber, Daniela Hantuchova, Victoria Azarenka, Andrea Petkovic and Sania Mirza were some of the tennis players that attened the 2012 China Open players party...

The party took place Monday night at the Intercontinental Beijing Beichen hotel.

Gasquet wins Thailand Open Title

Richard Gasquet dismissed Gilles Simon 6-2, 6-1 to win the Thailand Open 2012 title.

Gasquet earned $99,645 in prize money and 250 Rankings points.

Simon broke Gasquet in the opening game but was broken right back.

Gasquet broke again at 4-2 and in the eighth game seal the set.

Richard broke Simon for a 3-1 lead in the second set, then again in the sixth game. Than he held for victory in 69 minutes.

Gasquet and Simon to play in Thailand Open final

Gilles Simon upset Janko Tipsarevic 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the 2012 Thailand Open final where he will face countryman Richard Gasquet.

Gasquet defeated Jarkko Nieminen 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.

Simon broke the Serb in his first service game and then saved a break point in the 10th game before clinching the set. In the second set he broke for a 5-4 lead and never looked back.

"It was a very, very good match today and I couldn't have done better than that," said Simon. "Janko has been playing amazing tennis since last year; he is hitting hard and isn't losing a lot. I think I played the perfect match, but it will still close. It gives me confidence for the final."

Nole wins second straight Rogers Cup title

Novak Djokovic defeated Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-2 to win the 2012 Rogers Cup title in Montreal.

"The losses I had in the Olympic Games gave me even more desire to come here and perform my best and try to win a title," Djokovic said. "I am very happy to be in this position. I truly did not expect to win this tournament after the emotional losses in the Olympics.

"I really took it hard and tried to bounce back and recover. And I've done great, I have to say."

Djokovic broke Gasquet three time qand saved all four on his serve to clinch the final victory in 62 minutes.

Novak Djokovic beat Janko Tipsarevic 6-4, 6-1 to reach the final of the Toronto Masters where he will play Richard Gasquet.

Nole and Tipsy waited out a long rain interruption for the second day in a row and had to pause for 90 minutes in the sixth game of their semi-final.

Gasquet defeated John Isner 7-6 (7/3), 6-3

"We wanted to play and finish the match tonight," said Djokovic. "Of course we cannot affect the weather, but it was good to get this match done.

"Number one is of course a motivation for me, I cannot lie. I want it again.

Gasquet out, Roddick advances in Eastbourne

Richard Gasquet lost 1-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(3) to Marinko Matosevic in the second round match at the AEGON International.

Gasquet broke twice in the opening set after dominating his opponent, but then in the second set he missed four break point opportunities and lost the set in the tie breaker.

In the decider they reached the tie break again and Matosevic won it to seal the victory.

Andy Roddic advanced when Sam Querrey retired with a back injury. The former world number 1 was leading 5-2.

"I felt like this was the best place to [prepare]," said Roddick. "You can't really replicate match situations in practice, so it's something I needed. They afforded me the opportunity to play here and I'm thankful for it."

David Ferrer, Richard Gasquet and Janko Tipsarevic reached the second round at Roland Garros.

The Spaniard enjoyed a 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Lukas Lacko, the Frenchman beat Jurgen Zopp 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 while the Serb defeated Sam Querrey 2-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-3.

Ferrer converted six of 12 break point opportunities. He committed 29 unforced errors and won 14 of his 16 approaches to the net. He is now four match wins shy of 450 victories (446-239).

Gasquet was made to work a little but advanced in straight sets for the joy of all the local tennis fans.

"No, I didn't know him at all," said Gasquet of Zopp. "He's a strong hitter, he was serving well. [The] surface was fast with the sun and I think I played well. It was not easy. I could have lost one set, either the second one or the third one. The first match on the Central Court, it's always like this. It's always difficult. You have to know how to play. He was playing well. I'd say it's a good match for me."

Novak Djokovic reached the quarter-finals of the Rome Masters after a he battle past Juan Monaco 4-6 6-2 6-3, Rafael Nadal also advanced but in a different way.

The 5 times Rome champion crushed Marcel Granollers 61 61 while Andy Murray was sent packing by Richard Gasquet 6-7, 6-3, 6-2.

Monaco surprised Nole by winning the opening set. It was then when the Serb let all his frustration out and smashed his racquet very hard and broke it in pieces.

The world number 1 found himself a break down in the second set but at that moment he turned things around by winning 20 of the next 24 points to level the match.

Monaco could not sustain his level and Djokovic was able to claim the decider and the win.

Federer into Madrid Quarters after easy win

Roger Federer dismissed Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-2 to reach the Mutua Madrid Open 2012 quarter-finals.

After a hard battle last night with Raonic, Federer only needed 58 minutes today to advance.

The Swiss produced 31 winners and broke Gasquet three times. He faced just one break point in the final game but saved it and sealed the victory with an ace.

If Federer wins the title this week he will ascend to World No. 2, surpassing Rafael Nadal, who lost to Fernando Verdasco.

In the quarterfinals will next play David Ferrer, who beat Nicolas Almagro 76 36 76.

Del Potro wins Estoril title for the second time

Juan Martin del Potro defeated Richard Gasquet 6-4, 6-2 to win the 2012 Estoril Open title.

Del Potro broke to love in the first game to set the tone, but Gasquet put up a fight throughout an opening set which lasted 54 minutes.

The Frenchman saved break points in the fifth and seventh games before Delpo sealed the set with a concluding break.

Del Potro broke in the first game of the second set, converting his third break point chance with a forehand winner down the line into space. He took a 4-1 lead, with yet another powerful forehand winner and went onto record his fourth straight win in five minutes over Gasquet.

Juan Martin del Potro will battle Richard Gasquet tomorrow for the 2012 Estoril Open title.

Today, Del Potro defeated Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6(2), 6-4 in 93 minutes while Gasquet advanced to the final with a 2-6, 7-6(1), 7-5 victory over Albert Ramos in three hours and three minutes..

Wawrinka saved four match points at 3-5 but at the end del Potro was too strong and sealed the match.

"It's always tough to play Stan," said the South American, who is hunting an 11th career title. "He never gives you anything.

"It will be the same against Richard tomorrow -- another tough player on clay. I will have to improve my game even more if I'm to win.

Richard Gasquet defeated Daniel Munoz-de la Nava 7-6 6-2 and reached the semi-finals of the Estoril Open 2012.

Gasquet will next meet Albert Ramos, who beat Joao Sousa 6-2, 6-3.

"He had nothing to lose," said Gasquet. "We played a tough first set, it lasted more than an hour.

"It was a good win for me, but it was not an easy one. I concentrated well in the second set after playing a very good tie-break.

"I had to fight a lot but that is what you have to do on clay and this was good experience. I hope to keep it up in the semi-finals."

Gasquet and Wawrinka into Estoril quarterfinals

Richard Gasquet destroyed Paolo Lorenzi6-1, 6-1 and advanced to the quarters at the 2012 Estoril Open.

Gasquet broke twice in the opening set and three times in the second, he also hit 24 winners to seal the win after 66 minutes of play.

The Frenchman was joined by Stanislas Wawrinka, who beat Ivan Navarro 7-6 (5), 6-1.

Wawrinka saved break points in his first two service games before being broken in the sixth game on a double-fault. He broke back immediately and had five set points at one stage in the tiebreaker.

The Swiss overpowered his opponent in the second set, serving out the match in damp and windy conditions at the rain-disrupted event.

Roger Federer beat Jarkko Nieminen 7-5, 7-6(2) in the quarterfinals of the 2012 ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

In the semis, Federer will face Nikolay Davydenko.

"We both did really well on our on service games, which made it difficult on the return," assessed Federer. "But I played a good breaker."

The Swiss did not face a break point and won 86 per cent of his first serve points, firing eight aces.

He took command of the second set tie-break to seal the win after one hour and 31 minutes of play.

"It was good to have a tough match today because I got a walkover in the second round," said Federer. "I have to give Jarrko credit too. He played aggressive on both the forehand and backhand."

Rotterdam 2012: Berdych and Gasquet advanced

Tomas Berdych reached the quarterfinals of the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament 2012 in Rotterdam when Marcos Baghdatis retired with a leg injury in the fourth game.

Baghdatis injured his left calf in the opening set when Berdych took a 3-0 lead.

A trainer wrapped Baghdatis’ calf and he returned to the court. But the Cypriot looked hobbled by the injury and gave up a few points later.

Richard Gasquet also advanced after defeating Alex Bogomolov Jr. 6-3, 6-2 in 78 minutes.
