Ladies and gentelmen he did it again.... Rafa Nadal beat Novak Djokovic 6-4 6-3 2-6 7-5 to win a record seventh Roland Garros title.

"This tournament is probably the most special in the world and having this trophy with me I am really emotional. It is probably one of the most special moments in my career."

Play had been suspended on Sunday, because of rain, with the Spaniard a break down in the fourth set, but he broke back in the first game after the resumption.

After the early break, Djokovic held serve until the 12th game when Nadal conjured up a forehand winner after a 10-shot rally to set up match point.

Djokovic's dream ended with a double fault, leaving Nadal celebrating another title in Paris.

Rafa Nadal Roland Garros Pre-final press conference | June 9th 2012

Q. There are a lot of talk about the weather tomorrow, that maybe it is going to rain all day, and the final could be moved to Monday. Have you been said anything about it? What do you think?

RAFAEL NADAL: What I can think? What can I think? If rains, rains, then we play Monday. That’s all.

Q. Nobody told you anything already?

RAFAEL NADAL: I heard things, that there is chances to rain. But I cannot think about that. I have to think that I gonna play tomorrow and be focused for tomorrow. Then if rains, wait, and if not, come for Monday.

Q. Novak describes this as the ultimate challenge for him, the final tomorrow, because there is so much riding on it more than just the title, with all the records that are attached to it. How do you see it?

RAFAEL NADAL: For him? To win four in a row?

Q. Of your many memorable matches on this particular court, how highly would that rate amongst your victories, do you think?

RAFAEL NADAL: Today?

Q. Yes, today.

RAFAEL NADAL: Sure was one of my best matches in this court, yeah. I think I played really solid match with not easy conditions out there, a lot of wind.

In my opinion I did almost everything right, because my serve worked very well, changing directions. My backhand was the best day so far today. The forehand, I hit well the forehand during all the tournament. Today wasn’t an exception.

But probably today the only difference is today I played close to the baseline and last day when I came here after the match after Almagro, I say that I would like to play a little bit more closer to the baseline, more inside, than the last match.

I will need to try to beat against the next opponents. I did today. I am very happy; sorry for David. He deserve it. He’s a great fighter. He’s always there week after week.

Sure, it’s very important victory for me, and to win with this result against one of the best players of the moment, one of the best players of the world, is because I did very well. If not, is impossible to win against David like this.

Q. How close to perfection is your game at the moment?

Rafael Nadal defeated David Ferrer 6-2, 6-2, 6-1 to reach the French Open final.

"I probably played my best match here at Roland Garros this year," said Nadal. "I am sorry for David to lose like this. He is one of my best friends on the tour and one of the best claycourters. It was a fantastic match for me and I am so happy to be in another final at Roland Garros."

"I think you cannot expect to win a semifinal like this against one of the best players of the world," Nadal added.

Ferrer opened well with a love service game and he more than held his own in the early exchanges. He set up the first two break points of the match in the fourth game, but Nadal saved then and then broke him to love in the following game.

Two games later Nadal produced another love break to take a 5-2 lead and then served out the set.

Nadal Roland Garros Press Conference | Quarterfinals | June 6th 2012

Q. Can we say that today it was a really first good test of the tournament for you because it was interesting match?

RAFAEL NADAL: The tests are every day, no? If the No. 14 or 15 of the world is not a test, against Monaco it’s a good test. At the end, you know, the match wasn’t that difficult.

But before the match was a real test for me, because Monaco arrived to the match playing probably one of the best levels of his career, clay court specialist. At the end wasn’t the right test, because I won with comfortable result.

No, today, sure, you cannot expect more than a test. It’s a quarterfinals. It’s a difficult match. You play against win of the best players of the world and especially one of the best players of the world in this surface.

Sure, you cannot expect to win an easy match in quarterfinals of a Grand Slam, quarterfinals of Roland Garros. Was a tough one, but I am through and I am very happy.

Q. In the third set Almagro was hitting the ball very well. He was close to the break. What was your feeling at that moment?

RAFAEL NADAL: Just try to wait for my moment. That’s true that I was a little bit — he had chances in the third. He had a few very good moments hitting the ball very hard. But I had — with 1-0 I had a few deuce; with 3-2 I had a break point; with the 4-3 I finally had the break, no.

So I had my chances too. It’s true that he had a few chances, important ones. But my serve worked really well, and he had one mistake, one important mistake with the forehand.

Almagro no match for Nadal in Paris

Almagro no match for Nadal in Paris

Rafael Nadal defeated Nicolas Almagro 7-6, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the French Open semi-finals.

Nadal will next play David Ferrer, who beat Andy Murray.

"I was lucky in the last set. He had a few opportunities on my serve to have a break, then with my second or third chance I managed to close the match," Nadal said.

Games went with serve in the opening set until 6-6 with Almagro dominating Nadal at times.

In the tie-break Rafa claimed a 4-0 lead and Almagro showed the first signs of wear and tear after just over an hour of play allowing his compatriot to go up a set.

In the second set, Nadal broke in the fourth game and held serve to make it 4-1.

Alamgro the earned a break point in the seventh game, but Nadal saved it with a nice first serve. The former world number 1 broke in the following game to seal a two sets to love lead.

Nadal took the first game of the third set before rain stopped play for a few minutes. When played resumed, Rafa saved two break points in the fifth game and then broke again in the seventh game and then served out for the win.

"I was just trying to wait for my moments," Nadal said. "He had some good moments and he was hitting the ball hard, but I had my chances, too."

"You cannot expect to win an easy match in [the] quarter-finals of a Grand Slam, [the] quarter-finals of Roland Garros," said Nadal. [It] was a tough one, but I am through and I am very happy."

On his semi-final against Ferrer, Nadal said, "We [have] played each other a lot of times. His game bothers everybody because he's one of the best players in the world on every surface - on clay especially. He's a complete player. It's very difficult to play against him, because his movement is probably the best in the world and he's able to hit the ball very early a lot of the time."

"I'm very happy with my tennis today," admitted Almagro. "I think I played one of the best matches I can play against Rafa, but he's the No. 1 in the world on this surface. The only thing I can say to you, [is that] I'm going to work a lot for the next time."

"He served really good today. I think at the important moments he served better... but I think the key of the match was [that] I had my chances and I didn't take them."

Nicolas Almagro French Open Press Conference | June 6th 2012

Q. There were a lot of noise coming from the crowd. A lot of shouting towards you from a few fans in particular. Were you anything bothered by it?

NICOLAS ALMAGRO: I didn’t understand starting in English. Someone can you tell in English or something, right?

(In Spanish.) Well, I think the person who was shouting was not really aware of what he or she was doing. It was a mentally disabled person, I think. So we should not give too much importance to this. I think he tried to enjoy the match the way he could.

So I think it’s perfect people like this come and watch tennis matches and have fun. That’s all I have to say.

Q. How good was he out there? Looked like he played quite well, and it was still very tough.

NICOLAS ALMAGRO: Well, I’m very happy with my tennis today. I think I played one of the best matches I can play against Rafa, but he’s the No. 1 of the world in this surface. I’m very happy with my tennis.

The only thing I can say to you I’m going to work a lot for the next time.

Q. Has his serve improved? What made it difficult to face his serve today?
