Djokovic beats Medvedev to reach Eastbourne final

Novak Djokovic beats Medvedev to reach Eastbourne final

Novak Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-4, 6-4 to reach the Eastbourne International 2017 final.

Nole has not dropped a set in three matches at the grass-court event, which he is playing for the first time in a bid to rediscover some form ahead of Wimbledon.

Both players traded a pair of early breaks in the opening set, but when Djokovic was serving at 3-4 he saved three break points and then used that momentum to break Medvedev in the next game when the Russian hit a backhand into the net. A service winner from Djokovic at 5-4 gave him the early advantage.

Nole opened the second set with another break and never looked back.

"I am enjoying undoubtedly this week and the fact that I'm in the finals obviously makes it even better. But I felt very welcomed from the first day by the people in Eastbourne." Said the former world number 1.

He will next play either Gael Monfils or Richard Gasquet, who meet in an all-French second semifinal match later Friday.
