• Raonic posted his first win over Nadal at the sixth time of asking, saving 3 MPs en route to a 4-6, 7-6(10), 7-5 victory. The Canadian became the first player from his country to beat Nadal. He was also just the third player born in the 1990s to clinch a win over the Spaniard, after Kyrgios and Coric.
• Raonic defeated Robredo 6-3, 6-2 in the 4R, Dolgopolov 7-6(2), 6-4 in the 3R, and Bolelli 6-3, 6-4 in his opening match.
• Raonic leads the way this week in service games won (97.87%; 46 of 47) and BPs saved (9 of 10). Nadal is the only opponent to break his serve this tournament.
• Raonic is making his fifth appearance at the BNP Paribas Open. He has gone one round further year on year since his 3R exit in 2012 (l. to Federer), reaching the 4R in 2013 (l. to Tsonga), the QF in 2014 (l. to Dolgopolov) and now the SF in 2015.
• Raonic has reached the QF or better at eight of his last 10 ATP Masters 1000 events.
• Raonic is contesting the fifth ATP World Tour Masters 1000 SF of his career (2-2). His only previous final appearances at this level came on home soil in MontrĂ©al in 2013 (l. to Nadal) and last November in Paris (l. to Djokovic).

• Raonic helped Canada defeat Japan in Davis Cup ahead of Indian Wells, beating Tatsuma Ito but losing to Nishikori, his fourth Top 10 defeat of the season.
• Coming into this event, Raonic had won 94% of his service games from his first 14 ATP matches of 2015. Only Karlovic (97%) has a higher conversion rate, from 17 matches.
• In 2014, Raonic became the first player from his country to end a season in the Top 10 after winning a personal-best 49 matches and capturing a sixth career title – and first at ATP 500 level – in Washington (d. Pospisil in first all-Canadian ATP final).
• Federer took just 69 minutes to advance to his ninth BNP Paribas Open SF, defeating Berdych 6-4, 6-0. The Swiss won 88% of points behind his first serve and didn’t face a single BP.
• Federer beat Sock 6-3, 6-2 in the 4R, Seppi 6-3, 6-4 in the 3R and Schwartzman 6-4, 6-2 in his opening match. His victory over Sock marked his 50th match win at this tournament (now 51-10).
• Federer is contesting the BNP Paribas Open for the 15th time. He was a champion in 2004 (d. Henman), 2005 (d. Hewitt), 2006 (d. Blake) and 2012 (d. Isner), and a beaten finalist in 2014 (l. to Djokovic).
• Federer’s four titles make him the most successful singles player in the history of the tournament. No ATP player has featured in more finals here (five) or more consecutive finals (three: 2004-2006).
• Federer is featuring in an ATP Masters 1000 SF for the 53rd time.
• Federer is looking to reach a sixth Indian Wells final (4-1), a 40th ATP Masters 1000 final (23-16) and a 127th final overall (84-42).
• Federer has a 33-2 career record against players born in the 1990s. His only two defeats came against Federico Delbonis in Hamburg in 2013 and Raonic in Paris last November.
• Federer recorded his 1000th ATP match win in the Brisbane final (d. Raonic) before a shock 3R exit at the Australian Open (l. to Seppi). He claimed his second title of the season in Dubai last month (d. Djokovic).
• Federer has a 15-1 record this season with his only loss coming against Seppi in Melbourne.
• In 2014, Federer finished in the Top 2 for the 10th time, winning five titles including two ATP Masters 1000 crowns. Aged 33, he was the oldest player to finish in the Top 2 of the Emirates ATP Rankings (since 1973), and was the first to finish in the Top 10 for 13 years in a row (2003-2015) since Lendl (1980-1992). He also won a first Davis Cup title for Switzerland.
